A Page From “Museum of Dogs” Featuring A Japanese Woodcut, “Three Young Dogs”

I’ve got a page from “Museum of Dogs” to share!

This woodcut print is part of a book made in 1826 in Japan.

From the book: “If all the little Pokemon characters looked like these three, I would be so into it. Alas. These portly puppies are part of a book published in 1826, most likely by an artist named Nakamura Hôchû. It contains 26 prints, and was essentially a revival of a method of painting called mokkotsu, which means ‘boneless.’ Yaaaaas.”

Snag your copy of the book right here!
